Mets vs. Marlins Game 28 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins tonight in an exciting 8-7 win. The Mets were down 7-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, but wound up scoring 5 runs and retaking the lead. 2B TJ Rivera hit a 2 run double to tie the game. Rivera led the offense with 3 RBI's. He also hit a solo homer in the top of the first. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a RBI single in the seventh. SS Asbruval Cabrera hit a pinch hit RBI single. RF Curtis Granderson added a 2 run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning.
RHP Rafael Montero got the start and had a rough outing allowing 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings. LHP Josh Smoker followed and allowed 2 runs. RHP Fernando Salas got the last out in the top of the fifth. RHP Hansel Robles pitched a scoreless top of the sixth. LHP Jerry Blevins pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning. He picked up his second win. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the eighth. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his third save.
