RHP Robert Stock got the start and allowed two runs on four hits in four innings. He gave up two walks and had four strikeouts. Stock gave up a two-run homer to catcher Manny Pina. RHP Drew Smith followed with a 1-2-3 top of the fifth inning. Smith stayed in for the top of the sixth and gave up a two-run homer to SS Willy Adames. RHP Migeul Castro came on in the top of the seventh and struggled with his command after he hit CF Jackie Bradley Jr, threw a wild pitch and then gave up a two-run homer to pinch-hitter Omar Narvaez. RHP Yennsy Diaz had to appear next and got the last two outs in the top of the seventh. The offense didn't do much all night and had a great chance to score in the bottom of sixth after they loaded the bases with no outs. dto Pinch-hitter Brandon Nimmo, 2B Jeff McNeil and 3B Jonathan Villar all walked, but then SS Francisco Lindor, LF Dominic Smith and 1B Pete Alonso struck out to end the inning and ruin their best chance of a rally. The Mets next game is tomorrow night at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:10 p.m.
