Tehran last pitched with the Baltimore Orioles in the spring, but did not make Opening Day roster.
He had a 4.40 ERA in 71 2/3 innings for the Milwaukee Brewers last season.
Tehran will hopefully provide some depth and stability to a Mets rotation without RHP Kodai Senga and RHP Tylor Megill since they are on the injured list.
