Mets Lose To Tigers 6-3 in 11 Innings In First Game of Doubleheader

The New York Mets lost to the Detroit Tigers 6-3 in 11 innings this afternoon at Citi Field for their fifth consecutive loss and dropped their record to 0-5.

RHP Adam Houser had a solid start in his Met debut allowing one run on three hits in three innings.

Houser gave up three walks and three strikeouts.

LHP Brooks Raley followed with a scoreless top of the sixth.

RHP Drew Smith gave up a run in the top of the seventh.

RHP Adam Ottavino gave up a run in the top of the eighth.

RHP Edwin Diaz threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

RHP Jorge Lopez threw a scoreless top of the tenth.

RHP Michael Tomkin gave up three runs in the top of the eleventh.

Catcher Francisco Alvarez hit a two-run double in the bottom of the third.

3B Brett Baty hit a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

The Met offense struggled with men on base going 2-17 with runners in scoring position leaving 14 runners on base.

The Mets have another upcoming today against the Tigers.
