Mets Lost to Giants 5-2 After Quintana Has Rough Outing

The New York Mets lost to the San Francisco Giants 5-2 tonight at Oracle Park for their second consecutive loss and dropped their record to 12-10.

LHP Jose Quintana started out with a scoreless bottom of the first, but gave up a two-run double to SS Nick Ahmed in the bottom of the second.

Quintana gave up two more runs in the bottom of the third on a two-run double by 3B Matt Chapman.

Quintana had a scoreless innings in the bottom of the fourth and fifth and was gave up a solo homer to former Met LF Michael Conforto.

His final line was 5 innings, seven hits, five runs, three walks and four strikeouts.

RHP Jorge Lopez came in next in the bottom of the sixth and threw a scoreless inning.

LHP Sean Reid-Foley threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

LHP Josh Walker threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense was held scoreless until the top of the sixth after 1B Pete Alonso hit a solo homer.

LF Brandon Nimmo scored the only other run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Tuesday. April 23 at the Giants at 9:45 p.m.
