The New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 8-7 tonight at SunTruist Park for their second consecutive win and improved their record to 4-6.

In the top of the fifth, LF Jeff McNeil off with a walk, 2B Joey Wendle followed with a walk and then CF Brandon Nimmo came up and tied the game with a three-run homer.

In the top of the seventh, Nimmo came through once again with a game-tying solo homer.

In the top of the eighth, Baty singled with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch.

Two batters later, DH D.J. Stewart delivered the game-winning two-run homer.

McNeil followed with a walk and then LF Tyrone Taylor reached on an infield hit.

Nimmo came up and capped off his stellar night at the plate with a RBI single, his fifth RBI of the game.

RHP Cole Susler made his Met debut in the bottom of the sixth and gave up a RBI double to former Met catcher Travis d'Arnaud.

LHP Jake Diekmann came on in the bottom of the seventh and was able to get a 3-6-3 double play to end the inning.

RHP Drew Smith came on in the bottom of the eighth and struggled at first loading the bases. Smith then came back to retire 3B Austin Riley on a ground-out to third to end the inning.

RHP Jorge Lopez came on in the bottom of the ninth and gave up a lead-off double to 1B Matt Olson and then was helped out by his defense after Taylor made an outstanding catch to rob DH Marcell Ozuna of an extra base hit.

Lopez then gave up a RBI single to CF Michael Harris II but was able to settle down after that.

Lopez retired SS Orlando Arcia on a pop-up and d'Arnaud to fly out for the final out of the game and picked up his first save of the season.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 10 at the Braves at 7:20 p.m.
