Mets Shutout By Braves 6-0 And Swept In Doubleheader

 The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 6-0 tonight at Citi Field for their third consecutive loss and swept in doubleheader to drop their record to 52-65.

LHP Jose Quintana started out well with four scoreless innings, but in the top of the fifth, gave up a one-out to DH Marcell Ozuna and two batters later, a RBI single to LF Kevin Pillar.

Quintana was able to work his way out of a based loaded jam in the top of the sixth and was taken out after the inning.

His final line was six innings, four hits, one run, three walks and four strikeouts.

RHP Trevor Gott followed with a scoreless top of the seventh,

RHP Drew Smith came in next and gave up three runs on a RBI ground-out by 3B Austin Riley and a two-run double to Ozuna.

RHP Phil Bickford gave up a two-run homer to 2B Ozzie Albies in the top of the ninth.

The Met offense was unable to generate any timely hits with men on base after they went 0-5 with runners in scoring position leaving nine runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Sunday, August 13 at home against the Braves at 7:10 p.m on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
