The New York Mets are called up top prospect infielder Ronny Mauricio when the rosters expand on Friday.
Mauricio has hit well this season with 23 homers and 24 steals in 115 games in Triple-A Syracuse.
He is a natural shortship but has not found a permanent home at another position, but has gotten more playing time at second base.
Mauricio has proven to have power and speed, and will hopefully provide a spark and energy to the team in the last month of the season.
