The New York Mets lost to the Baltimore Orioles 7-3 tonight at Camden Yards for their fifth consecutive loss and dropped their record to 50-60.
RHP Tylor Megill got into immediate trouble in the bottom of the first after he gave up a lead-off single to catcher Adley Rutschman and a two-run homer to the following hitter to SS Gunnar Henderson.
Megill had a scoreless bottom of the second, but gave up a RBI single to RF Ryan O'Hearn in the bottom of the third.
Megill had a scoreless bottom of the fourth, but in the bottom of the fifth gave up a two-run homer to DH Anthony Santander and was then taken out.
His final line was 4.2 innings, nine hits, five runs, 0 walks and three strikeouts.
RHP Grant Hartwood allowed one run in 2.1 innings on a RBI single by CF Ryan McKenna.
RHP Phil Bickford gave up a RBI double to Rutschman in the bottom of the eighth.
2B Jeff McNeil was the lone run producer for the Met offense with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth and a RBI single in the top of the sixth.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, August 6 at the Orioles at 1:35 p.m.
