Mets Swept by Orioles 2-0 And Waste Outing from Quintana

The New York Mets lost to the Baltimore Orioles 2-0 this afternoon at Camden Yards for their sixth consecutive loss and dropped their record to 50-61.

LHP Jose Quintana started out well with four scoreless innings, but in the bottom of the fifth gave up a triple to CF Jorge Mateo and then a RBI ground-out to the following hitter catcher Adley Rutchsman.

Quintana had a scoreless bottom of the sixth and gave up another run in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI ground-out by pinch-hitter Ryan O'Hearn.

RHP Trevor Gott followed and threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

RHP Adam Ottavino threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense did nothing all game managing only four hits with one extra base hit.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, August 7 back at Citi Field against the Chicago Cubs at 7:10 p.m.
