The bats did not much after that and had a chance to win in the bottom of the ninth after Marte led off with a double and then advanced to third on a fly-out by SS Francisco Lindor,
PH Daniel Vogelbach came up next and hit a fly-out to RF Nick Castellanos and then threw Marte out at home on a perfect throw to end the inning and keep the game tied.
In the bottom of the tenth, Vogelbach started out at second as the ghost runner and then advanced to third on a fly-out by Canha.
LF Tyler Naquin then struck out and pinch-hitter Luis Guillorme grounded out to first for the last out of the game.
The offense struggled all night wasting several scoring opportunities going 0-7 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.
