Mets To Call Up Top Prospect 3B Brett Baty

The New York Mets announced today that they are planning on calling up top prospect 3B Brett Baty due to the recent injuries of infielders Luis Guillorme and Eduardo Escobar.

Baty is the Mets second-ranked prospect behind catcher Francisco Alvarez and was just promoted to Triple A Syracuse two weeks ago.

Baty hit eight singles and three walks in 26 plate appearances in Triple-A  Syracuse..

 He hit .312 in over 400 plate appearances this year at Double-A Binghamton. 

Baty has always been known for his hitting, but his defense has been a question mark.

It will be exciting to see how he adjusts to the big leagues and hopefully provides a spark to the offense.
