RHP Trevor Williams made a spot start and had a difficult outing allowing four runs on seven hits in two innings. Williams had no walks, but also no strikeouts. He didn't have command of any of his pitches and also trouble locating and putting hitters away. RHP Sean Reid-Foley came in next and allowed the first two batters he faced to get on, but then settled down after that and one point retired seven straight batters. Reid-Foley had to come out in the fifth with left leg cramping. He threw 2.2 scorless innings. RHP Adam Ottavino followed and and gave a run in 1.1 innings. LHP Joely Rodriguez threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh. RHP Adonis Medina made his Met debut in the bottom of the eighth after he was called up on Saturday and had an impressive first outing striking out the side on 22 pitches. The offense was held scoreless for the first four innings, but in the top of the fifth, DH Dom Smith led off with a double and two batters later, LF Jeff McNeil hit a RBI triple. Catcher Tomas Nido followed with a RBI single. The bats did not do much after that and wasted opportunities with with runners on base. They were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. The Mets next game is at the Diamondbacks tomorrow afternoon Sunday, April 24th at 4:10 p.m.
