The offense was held scoreless for the first four innings, but finally got on the board in the top of the fifth after CF Brandon Nimmo homered with two outs. The bats didn't do much in the next two innings, but in the top of the eighth Nimmo led off with a walk and RF Starling Marte grounded into a fielder's choice. Marte then stole second and SS Francisco Lindor hit a RBI single. RHP Tylor Megill had another stellar performance with 5.1 scoreless innings, 3 hits, 0 walks and 5 strikeouts and picked up his second consecutive win. He had a lot on his fastball and also featured a sharp slider. If he can keep up these types of performances, it will bode well for him and the rest of the rotation. LHP Chasen Shreve followed with one out in the bottom of the sixth and retired LF Kyle Schwarber and catcher J.T Realmuto to end the inning. Shreve came back for the start of the bottom of the seventh and retired RF Bryce Harper and was then taken out. RHP Drew Smith came in next and retired the next two hitters he faced. Smith remained in the game for the bottom of the eighth and threw a scoreless inning. RHP Edwin came on in the bottom of the ninth and closed out the game with three strikeouts and picked up first save on the season. The Mets next game is tomrrow afternoon at the Phillies at 1:05 p.m.
