We all know about Yoenis Cespedes the Cuban sensation by now as he wows fans daily with long power shots and long balls. If you are a baseball fan you certainly have heard of Yasiel Puig with the Dodgers, batting almost.500 in his inaugural month and competing for rookie of the year in his first season. These are two well known Cuban studs that have taken the MLB by storm: bat flipping, lollygagging, and showing up pitchers across the league. Well there's a new name in town and he's bucking the trend.
Jose Abreu, no relation to Bobby, is a 27 year old Cuban born animal who is making pitchers look like little leaguers in only 1 month of MLB action. This season as a rookie, Abreu is hitting .279 with 13 Home Runs and 37 Rib Eye Steaks! He leads all of MLB in those categories, and oh he also hit 11 doubles in the first month. While he did all that in the first 35 games of his career, most players sit by and wish those were their season numbers.
While doing all of this he is also a very humble man, never standing to admire his massive blasts, or bat flipping in a pitchers defeat. He hits the ball, runs hard and touches 'em all. This guys going to be a star very soon and we should see him highlight his talents at the summer classic in Minnesota this year. Be on the prowl and watch out for this guy dropping bombs in a stadium near you.
