Mets Win in 14!

It's not often you see back to back 14 inning games as the Mets played in their past two games against the Phillies. After a tough heartbreaking loss in Friday nights contest, the Mets rebounded strong with a great start from Jacob deGrom. He dominated the Phillies lineup in today's win, striking out 11 over 6.1 innings. The one mistake was a three run home run to Ryan Howard. deGrom has had a nice start to his career and hopefully establishes himself as part of this teams future rotation.

Keys to the Game:

Jacob deGrom- Turned in another excellent start and has run off a few good ones to start his career. As all young pitchers he needs to learn to limit his pitch count, but he is really impressing so far and needs to continue to pitch well for the Mets to compete in the division and also the Mets need to award him with his first career win.

David Wright- The swing doesn't look great but he always gets it done when need be. An RBI single in the bottom of the 14th propelled the Mets to this much needed victory. Hopefully he can find his power stroke as we need to see more extra bases from our captain.

Buddy Carlyle- Buddy did a great job throwing 3 much needed shutout innings in Saturdays extra inning game. Called up from El Paso Saturday morning, he stepped off the plane soon before start time. After emptying the kitchen sink in the first 14 inning game, the bullpen was shot on Saturday. Carlyle earned the win as deserved and the Mets have taken 2 of 3 so far from philly.
