Mets vs. Padres Game 116 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres 3-2 in 11 innings tonight to snap their 4 game losing streak and improve their record to 58-58. They are now 2.5 games out of the second wildcard spot. 3B Wilmer Flores grounded into a fielder's choice which resulted an error brought home the winning run. Kelly Johnson hit a pinch-hit sacrifice fly. Neil Walker added an RBI single.

RHP Jacob deGrom pitched 7 outstanding innings and allowed only run on three hits in seven innings. He gave up one walk and had three strikeouts. He picked up another no-decision. This has been all too familiar for Degrom after having another terrific outing wasted by a lack of run support. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia gave up a run in the top of the ninth inning to blew his third save of the season. LHP Jerry Blevins and RHP Erik Goedell combined to pitch a scoreless top of the tenth inning. Rookie Gabriel Ynoa pitched a scoreless inning in the top of the eleventh inning and picked up his first win in his major league debut.
