Mets vs Giants Game 122 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the San Francisco Giants 8-1 to lose their third consecutive game and fall two games under 500 at 60-62. They are now 5,5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals in the wild-card race. RHP Seth Lugo took the loss after he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 6 2/3 innings. He gave up one walk and had three strikeouts. After Lugo was taken out, RHP Josh Smoker came in and allowed two runs, but only was earned. RHP Jeurys Familia followed Smoker and also gave up two runs. RHP Erik Goedell gave up a run in the bottom of the eighth,

The only run the Mets scored was on a solo homer by CF Curtis Granderson.
