Mets vs. Diamondbacks Game 119 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5 to snap their one game losing streak and improve their record to 60-59. They remain three games behind the St, Louis Cardinals for the second wild spot. The Mets offense struggled for the first four innings and were scoreless until the top of the fifth inning. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a sacrifice fly. RHP Noah Syndergarrd hit a 2 run homer. SS Jose Reyes had 2 RBI's with a RBI single and triple. 2B Kelly Johnson hit a solo homer. CF Aledandro De Aza added an RBI double.

RHP Noah Syndergarrd had his best start in a while and allowed four runs, but only 2 earned in 5 2/3 innings. He gave up 2 walks. He had eight strikeouts. He picked up his tenth win of the season. LHP Jerry Blevins came in after Syndergarrd was taken out and got the last out in the bottom of the sixth inning. RHP Hansel Robles allowed a run in the bottom of the seventh and picked up the first two outs, RHP Addison Reed came in next and got the last out in the bottom of the seventh inning and also pitched a scoreless eighth. Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth and picked up his 40th save.
