Mets vs. Cardinals Game 127 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 10-6 tonight to take two out of three games in the series and improve their record to 64-63. They are now only 3.5 games behind the Cardinals for the second wild spot in the National League. CF Aledandro De Aza had a huge night with 5 RBI's. He had a 3 run homer and 2 run single. 2B Wilmer Flores hit a sacrifice fly. He also reached on an error which brought home a run. SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit a RBI single. Catcher Rene Rivera added a 2 run double.

RHP Seth Lugo pitched 5 scoreless innings. He allowed 2 hits and 3 walks. He had 5 strikeouts. He picked up his first win of the season. RHP Jim Henderson allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. LHP Jerry Blevins pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh. RHP Josh Smoker allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the eighth. RHP Addison Reed came in and got the last 3 outs in the eighth. LHP Sean Gilmartin allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
