Mets Lose to Dodgers 3-0 And Swept in Doubleheader

The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles 3-0 tonight at Citi Field and were swept in their doubleheader to drop their record to 22-32.

LHP Jose Quintana got off a tough start in the top of the first after he gave up a solo homer to DH Will Smith.

Quintana gave up an infield hit to CF Andy Pages and then a RBI double to the following hitter LF Miguel Vargas.

Quintana had scoreless innings in the top of the third, fourth and fifth, but gave up a solo homer to Vargas in the top of the sixth and was taken out after the inning.

His final line was six innings, eight hits, three runs, 0 walks and three strikeouts.

RHP Dedniel Nunez followed with two scoreless innings in the top of the seventh and eighth.

LHP Josh Walker threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

The Met offense did not do much all night outside of three singles by SS Francisco Lindor, 3B Mark Vientos and LF Brandon Nimmo and left four runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, May 29 at home against the Dodgers at 4:10 p.m.
