The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 8-0 tonight at LoanDepot Park and dropped their record to 20-24.

RHP Christian Scott started out well with a scoreless bottom of the first, but had a difficult bottom of the second.

Scott gave up a lead-off single to RF Jesus Sanchez and then two batters later a single to LF Dee-Strange Gordon.

Scott then allowed a sacrifice fly to 3B Otto Lopez.

It then unraveled for Scott in the inning after he gave up a single to SS Vidal Brujan and then a three-run homer to catcher Nick Fortes.

Scott was able to settle down after that and did not allow any more runs.

He had scoreless innings in the bottom of the third and fourth and was taken out after the inning.

His final line was four innings, seven hits, four runs, one walk and three strikeouts.

LHP Josh Walker came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the fifth, but gave up two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch and then a RBI single by DH Bryan De La Cruz.

RHP Grant Harwig followed with a scoreless bottom of the seventh and gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth on a RBI ground-out by 1B Josh Bell and an RBI single by 3B Jake Burger.

The Met offense was unable to generate much all night and had only six hits.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, May 18 at 4:10 p.m.
