Mets Lose To Tigers 6-5 After Blowing Lead in 8th

 The New York Mets lost to the Detroit Tigers 6-5 this afternoon  in the first game of a doubleheader at Comerica Park and dropped their record to 16-14.

.LHP Joey Lucchesi had a rough outing allowing four runs in four innings.

RHP Jimmy Yacabonis followed with three scoreless innings in the bottom of the fifth, sixth and seventh.

RHP Adam Ottavino came on in the bottom of the eighth and gave up a two-run double to DH Eric Haase. 

After a scoreless top of the first, LF Tommy Pham and DH Mark Canha hit solo homers in the top of second.

In the top of the fifth, 3B Brett Baty and catcher Tomas Nido singled to start off the inning and then Baty scored on a throwing error hy LF Andy Ibanez.

Three batters later, SS Francisco Lindor hit a three-run homer.

The bats did not do much after that and struggled with timely hits leaving five runners on base and going 2-6 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets have another game tonight at the Tigers at 6:40 p.m.
