Mets Beat Nationals 3-2 Led By Francisco Lindor

The New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 tonight at Nationals Park to snap their one-game losing streak and improved their record to 19-20.

The offense was held scoreless for the first five innings but came alive in the top of the sixth.

RF Starling Marte led off with a single and DH Mark Canha followed with a double.

Three batters later, CF Brandon Nimmo walked to load the bases and then SS Francisco Lindor came up and cleared the bases with a single to right field.

RHP Tylor Megill allowed two runs on four hits in five innings. He gave up four walks and had four strikeouts.

Megill picked up his fourth win.

RHP Jeff Brigham followed with a scoreless bottom of the sixth.

RHP Adam Ottavino came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

RHP David Robertson appeared next and had a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth.

Robertson came back out for the bottom of the ninth and got into trouble walking the first hitter 3B Jeimer Candelario and after striking out the next two hitters, he walked LF Jacob Alu.

Robertson was then taken out and RHP Drew Smith had to come in.

Smith was able to close it out by striking out RF Lane Thomas and picking up his first career save.

The  Mets next game is tomorrow Saturday, May 13 at the Nationals at 4:05 p.m.
