Mets Call Up Top Prospect Mark Vientos

The New York Mets are calling up top prospect Mark Vientos.

Vientos has crushing it this season  at Triple-A Syracuse hitting .333 with 11 doubles, 13 homers and 37 RBI.

He has also cut down on his strikeouts going from 28.6% last year in Triple-A to 20.5% this year.

Vientos has struggled defensively in the past and has improved at third base and first base, but is blocked by Brett Baty at 3B and Pete Alonso at 1B.

Vientos will most likely DH since the Mets have been lacking power there due to the struggles of Daniel Vogelbach.

Wherever Vientos plays, his power will be desperately needed for a team that is ranked in the bottom third in the National League in homers. They also have the fourth-fewest doubles in the league and fifth fewest runs in the National League.

It will be exciting to see what kind of spark Vientos brings to the starting lineup which will hopefully lead to some much needed wins.
