The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 7-2 this afternoon at Citi Field to snap their two game winning streak and dropped their record to 5-5.

RHP Carlos Carrasco got off to tough start in the top of the first after he gave up a lead-off single to CF Jazz Chisholm Jr and two batters later walked DH Garrett Cooper.

Later in the inning, Carrasco  gave up a three-run homer to LF Bryan De La Cruz.

Carrasco was able to settle down for the next three innings, but in the top of the fifth, it all came apart for him once again after he gave up singles to SS Jon Berti and Chisholm Jr and then another three-run homer this time to Cooper and was taken out after that.

Carrasco's final line was 4.2 innings, six hits, three walks, and one strikeout.

RHP Stephen Nogosek followed and gave up one run in 3 1/3 innings.

RHP Dennis Santana threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

In the bottom of the second, DH Mark Canha led off with a single and 2B Jeff McNeil followed a single.

Two batters later, catcher Francisco Alvarez drove in a run with a RBI single.

After scoreless innings in the bottom of the third and fourth, CF Tommy Pham led off the bottom of the fifth with a single and three batters later, 1B Pete Alonso hit a RBI single.

The bats did not do much after that and wasted several scoring opportunities..

They went 2-12 with RISP and left 10 runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, April 10 at home against the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m.
