The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 this afternoon at American Family Field and dropped their record to 3-4.
LHP David Peterson started out well with a scoreless bottom of the first, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the second.
Peterson gave up a RBI single to 1B Owen Miller and later in the inning a three-run homer to CF Joey Wiemer.
Peterson settled down with scoreless innings in the bottom of the third and fourth and then walked to LF Christian Yelich to lead off the bottom of the fifth and was then taken out.
RHP Drew Smith came in next and later in the inning gave up a two-run double to CF Jesse Winker.
RHP John Curtiss followed and threw two scoreless innings in the bottom of the sixth and seventh.
RHP David Robertson threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.
RHP Adam Ottavino came on in the bottom of the ninth and gave up a walk-off homer to CF Garrett Michell.
In the top of the first, RF Starling Marte was hit by a pitch and then SS Francisco Lindor followed with a RBI double.
In the top of the third, Marte doubled with one out and then Lindor followed with a RBI single.
1B Pete Alonso then hit a two-run homer to tie the game.
In the top of the fifth, Lindor doubled with one out and then Alonso followed with another two-run homer his third and fourth RBI of the game.
The offense did not get any hit after Alonso's homer.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, April 6 in their home opener at Citi Field against the Miami Marlins at 1:10 p.m.
