Mets Lose to Braves 4-0 in Rain Shortened Game

 The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 4-0 tonight at Citi Field in a rain shortened five-inning game and dropped their record to 15-12.

LHP David Peterson started out well with four scoreless innings. but ran into trouble in the top of the fifth.

Peterson gave up a one-out single to DH Eddie Rosario and double to LF Kevin Pillar.

Peterson was unable to get out of the inning after he gave up a two-out RBI single to RF Ronald Acuna Jr and then it all imploded for him in the inning after he gave up a three-run homer to 1B Matt Olson and was taken out after the inning due to the rain.

His final line was 5 innings, 5 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

The offense did not do much against LHP Max Fried and managed only three hits.

They went 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left four runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, April 29 at home against the Braves at 4:05. p.m.
