The New York Mets announced this morning that they have placed RHP Max Scherzer on the 15-day injured list (IL) after he left his last start on Saturday with fatigue in his left side.
Scherzer had also strained his left oblique muscle earlier in the season which kept him out for nearly two months.
The team is hoping that Scherzer will be able to return after a short stint on the IL.
