The New York Mets announced that RHP Max Scherzer left tonight's start against the Washington Nationals after five innings with a fatigued left side.
His final line was five innings, three hits, one run, one walk and five strikeouts.
Manager Buck Showalter said after the game that he is hopeful that Scherzer will make his next start as scheduled.
