Vientos has been hitting well all year in Triple-A with a .280 batting average, 24 homers and 72 RBI with 16 doubles, one triple and 44 walks.
He has developed this year into a power threat who can hit anywhere in the lineup.
Vientos has not done nearly as well as defense and his glove is the weakest part of his game.
He lost his third base job in Triple-A and his defensive struggles played a large role into delaying his arrival to the Majors.
Vientos will fill in at DH and hopefully provide power from that spot since Darin Ruf and Daniel Vogelbach are struggling.
He will give the starting lineup another big bat threat and bring a much needed boost to a team that has been struggling to score runs.
