Mets vs. Brewers Game 51 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 tonight to snap their three-game winning streak and drop their record to 23-28. RHP Jacob deGrom got the start and had his worst outing of the season.  deGrom went four innings and allowed seven runs on eight hits. He gave up five walks and had six strikeouts. LHP Josh Edgin came in next and pitched three scoreless innings. Edgin allowed two hits, had no walks and three strikeouts. RHP Neil Ramirez had two scoreless innings in the top of the eighth and ninth.

The only run the Mets offense was able to score was on a RBI double by LF Michael Conforto in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Mets vs. Brewers Game 50 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 in 12 innings last for their third consecutive win and improved their record to 23-27. RHP Tyler Pill made his first Major League start and did an excellent job allowing one run in 5 1/3 innings. Pill gave up two walks and had four strikeouts, but wound up with a no-decision. RHP Fernando Salas came in next and got the last two outs in the top of the sixth and came back out for the top of the seventh, but wound up loading the bases. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and allowed a based loaded walk and was unable to get out of the inning after SS Asdrubal Cabrera dropped a pop-out that led to two runs and tied the game. LHP Josh Edgin followed and pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning. LHP Josh Smoker pitched three scoreless innings with four strikeouts and recorded his first win of the season.

The Mets offense was scoreless for the first four innings, but scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth. SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit a RBI double and 3B Jose Reyes drew a based loaded walk. 1B Lucas Duda hit a two run homer in the bottom of the sixth. RF Jay Bruce hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the twelfth.

Mets vs. Brewers Game 49 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 for their second consecutive win and improved their record to 22-27. RHP Robert Gsellman had a solid outing and allowed two runs on three hits in seven innings. Gsellman gave up two walks and had five strikeouts. He picked up third win. RHP Paul Sewald followed a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his seventh save.

The Mets offense struggled for the first four innings, but came alive in the bottom in of the fifth with three runs. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a RBI double. Robert Gsellman hit a sacrifice fly. LF Michael Conforto hit a RBI double. Gsellman added a based loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth.

Mets vs. Pirates Game 48 Recap

Last night, the New York Mets defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-2 to take two out of three games in the series and improve their record to 21-27. RHP Matt Harvey had his best outing of the season and showed signs that he is on the way back and had much better command of his fastball and secondary pitches. Harvey allowed one run on six hits in six innings. He gave up two walks and had four strikeouts. Harvey picked up his fourth win of the season. RHP Paul Sewald came in next and allowed one run on three hits in two innings with threes strikeouts. RHP Neil Ramirez closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The Mets offense had a balanced approach, with eight out of the nine hitters getting on base, which include Matt Harvey. SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run double in the top of the fourth. 3B Jose Reyes hit a RBI single in the top of the fifth. Reyes finished the game 1 for 5 with an RBI single, run scored and a stolen base. RF Jay Bruce hit a two-run double in the top of the fifth and reached base three times in the game. LF Curtis Granderson hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth to go along with three hits. 1B Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh and has now homered in back-to back games.

Mets vs. Pirates Game 47 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 tonight in ten innings and dropped their record to 20-27. RHP Zack Wheeler wound up with a no-decision after he allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings with five strikeouts. RHP Neil Ramierez allowed a double in the bottom of the seventh inning with one and then was pulled for LHP Jerry Blevins. Blevins got the last two outs in the bottom of the seventh and one out in the bottom of the eighth. RHP Fernando Salas was able to get the last two outs in the bottom of eighth. RHP Addison Reed blew the save in the bottom of the ninth after allowing a run on three hits. Rookie RHP Tyler Pill came in to make his MLB debut in the bottom of the tenth and wound up loading the bases. LHP Josh Edgin followed and allowed a walk-off single to John Jaso.

The Mets offense had a big night from catcher Travis d'Arnaud who had three hits and two RBI's with a home and single. d'Arnaud was a triple shy of the cycle. RF Jay Bruce hit a solo homer in the top of the first. 1B Lucas Duda added a solo homer in the top of the fifth.

Mets vs. Pirates Game 46 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-1 tonight to snap their two-game losing streak and improve their record to 20-26. RHP Jacob deGrom got the start tonight after having it pushed back a day due to the threat of rain last night. deGrom had a dominant performance and allowed one run on six hits in 8 1/3 innings. He gave up one walk and had ten strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win of the season. RHP Fernando Salas came in to get the last two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Mets offense had one of the best performances of the season with eight runs and 12 hits. 2B Neil Walker had a big night with two homers and four RBI's. Walker hit a two-run homer in the top of the second inning and hit another homer in the top of the fifth. This was the first time Walker has homered at PNC Park since being traded from the Pirates. He added an RBI single in the top of the sixth. 1B Lucas Duda hit a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning. CF Curtis Granderson hit a RBI single in the top of the second inning.

Mets Bring Up Tyler Pill

The New York Mets announced earlier today that they have called up RHP Tyler Pill from Triple-A Las Vegas. In a corresponding roster move, the Mets sent RHP Rafael Montero down to Triple A-Las Vegas and moved RHP Seth Lugo to 60-day DL in order to make room for Pill on the 40-man roster. Pill had a 1.96 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 23 strikeouts in 46 innings for  Las Vegas this year. In seven minor leagues, he has a 4.01 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Mets vs. Padres Game 45 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the San Diego Padres 4-3 tonight to lose two out of three games in the series and drop their record to 19-26. RHP Rafael Montero got the start instead of RHP Jacob deGrom due to the weather. Montero had a rough outing and gave up three runs on five hits in five innings. He also allowed three walks. RHP Paul Sewald came in next and pitched three scoreless innings. LHP Josh Edgin followed with two scoreless innings. RHP Addison Reed allowed a run in the top of the ninth.

1B Lucas Duda led the Mets offense with two RBI's. Duda hit a solo homer in the bottom of the second inning and had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning. SS Jose Reyes grounded into a fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth inning, which brought home a run.

Last night, the New York Mets lost to the San Diego Padres 6-5 and dropped their record to 18-26. RHP Robert Gsellman got the start and had his best outing in a while. Gsellman allowed three runs on six hits in six innings. He had three strikeouts and gave up one walk. Gsellmen was taken out after six innings with 84 pitches and wound up with a no-decision. RHP Fernando Salas came on in the top of the seventh and loaded the bases. RHP Neil Ramirez came in next and allowed a two run single to Wil Myers. LHP Josh Edgin followed and got the last out in the top of the seventh. LHP Josh Smoker gave up the go-ahead home run to Hunter Renfroe in the top of the eighth.

The Mets offense got a big hit from 3B Wilmer Flores who hit a based-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth. CF Curtis Granderson added a RBI single in the bottom of the fourth. LF Michael Conforto hit a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

Mets vs. Padres Game 43 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres 9-3 tonight and improved their record to 19-23. The Mets offense got to a fast start in the bottom of the first inning with seven runs.. CF Michael Conforto lead off the bottom of the first inning with a homer, his twelfth on the season. SS Jose Reyes, LF Jay Bruce and 2B Neil Walker followed with singles. RF Curtis Granderson hit a sacrifice fly to bring home the second run of the inning. 3B Wilmer Flores hit a RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0. 1B Lucas Duda hit a 2 run double to make it a five-run inning. Conforto closed out the scoring barrage in the first inning with a 2 run double to bring the lead to 7-0. He followed up his first inning performance with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth. Conforto ended up 3 for 4 with 2 homers and 4 RBI's. Duda added a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

RHP Matt Harvey got the start and was only able to last five innings, due to struggles with his command. Harvey allowed two runs in five innings. He gave up four walks and had six strikeouts. He picked up his third win of the season. Harvey is showing signs that he is on the way back, but it will take time for him to return to the success that he had in the 2015 playoffs and World Series after coming off next surgery. After Harvey was taken out, LHP Josh Smoker allowed a solo homer to Ryan Schimpf in the top of the sixth. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and recorded the first two outs in the top of the eighth. RHP Fernando Salas closed it out and got the last four outs.

Hansel Robles Sent Down to Triple-A

The New York Mets announced earlier today that RHP Hansel Robles has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. LHP Josh Smoker was recalled up as the corresponding roster move. Smoker had a 0-1 record and a 7.88 ERA in 15 games for the Mets earlier this year. Robles was unable to gain any consistency and posted a 4-1 record with a 6.23 ERA.

Mets vs. Angels Game 42 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Angels 12-5 today to drop their record to 18-24. LHP Tommy Millone made his third start as a Met and was unable to make it out of the top of the second inning. Millone allowed eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings. Millone gave up seven hits and had two walks with three strikeouts. He has recorded an 11.25 ERA in three starts since becoming a Met. RHP RHP Rafael Montero came in next and allowed one run on two hits with three walks in 3/2 innings. RHP Neil Ramirez pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Hansel Robles allowed three runs on a three-run homer in the top of the eighth. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The Mets offense had a strong power surge today with three home runs. SS Matt Reynolds hit his first homer of the season after he was inserted late into the lineup. CF Curtis Granderson hit a solo homer. RF Jay Bruce hit a three-run homer.

The New York Mets defeated the Los Angeles Angels 7-5 tonight for the second consecutive win and improved their record to 18-23. LF Michael Conforto had another outstanding game getting on base four times with three walks and a double. Conforto also had three runs scored. SS Jose Reyes was also on base four times with three singles and walk and drove in two runs on a RBI single. Reyes also picked up his 2,000 hit. 2B Neil Walker had 2 RBI's with a single and groundout. 3B T.J. Rivera  hit a sacrifice fly. RF Jay Bruce also hit a sacrifice fly. Infielder Wilmer Flores added a pinch-hit RBI double in the bottom of the eighth.

RHP Zack Wheeler had a solid outing allowing two runs on four hits in five plus innings. He allowed five walks and had five strikeouts. Wheeler came back out for the top of the sixth, but was unable to get an out and loaded the bases. RHP Fernando Salas came in next and was able to minimize the damage and give up one run. RHP Robert Gsellman followed with two scoreless innings in the top of the seventh and eighth. RHP Neil Ramirez appeared in the top of the ninth for his Met debut was unable to record an out and was charged with three runs. RHP Addison Reed came in and allowed all three inherited runs to score, but was able to record his sixth save of the season.

RHP Jacob deGrom got the start and has his best outing of the season. degrom allowed no runs in seven innings on four hits and three walks. He had nine strikeouts. degrom was the first Mets starter in the last 18 games to record an out in the seventh inning. He picked up his third win of the season. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and got the first two outs in the top of the eighth inning. RHP Paul Sewald got the last out in the top of the eighth, RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his fifth save on the season.

RF Curtis Granderson got the Mets offense off to a fast start with an RBI double in the top of the first inning. Catcher Rene Rivera hit an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rivera extended his hitting streak to 11 games. LF Michael Conforto hit a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning, his 11th on the season. Conforto ended up 2 for 3 on the night with two hits, a walk, a homer and an RBI.

Mets vs. Diamondbacks Game 39 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 today in eleven innings and have now lost seven consecutive games. The Mets dropped their record to 16-23. RHP Matt Harvey had a productive start allowing three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Harvey gave up four walks and had five strikeouts. LHP Josh Edgin came in next and recorded the last two outs in the bottom of the sixth. RHP Robert Gsellman came on in the bottom of the seventh and allowed a game-tying double to Yosmany Tomas. LHP Jerry Blevins pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Addison Reed pitched two scoreless innings in the bottom of the ninth and tenth innings. RHP Rafael Montero followed in the bottom of the eleventh inning and took the loss after allowing a walk-off homer to Chris Hermann.

LF Michael Conforto continued his torrid start with a two run homer in the top of the first inning. Conforto is hitting .310 on the year and a 1.031 OPS (on-base plus slugging). CF Juan Lagares hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth. SS Jose Reyes hit a RBI double in the top of the fourth.

Mets Place Asdrubal Cabrera on 10-Day DL

The New York Mets announced today that they have placed SS Asdrubal Cabrera on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb. Cabrera's DL stint began on May 14th.

Mets Sign Reliever Neil Ramirez To Major League Deal

The New York Mets announced earlier today that they signed reliever RHP Neil Ramirez to a major league deal. Ramirez had a 8.71 ERA in nine games for the San Francisco Giants this year. He was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier in May and was designated for assignment on Tuesday, but chose to go to free agency after he rejected being sent down. Ramirez's best season was in 2014 after he had a 1.44 ERA in 50 games for the Chicago Cubs. He had has 110 strikeouts in 92 career innings and has held right-handed hitters to a career .218 average. In order to make room for Ramirez on the roster, the Mets moved reliever RHP Jeurys Familia to the 60-day disabled list.

Mets vs. Diamondbacks Game 37 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-3 for their fifth consecutive loss and dropped their record to 16-21. RHP Zack Wheeler got the start and had a strong outing allowing one run on seven hits in six innings. Wheeler had six strikeouts. RHP Hansel Robles followed and pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. Robles came back out for the bottom of the eighth and allowed five runs. Robles gave up a three-run homer to catcher Jeff Mathis and two-run homer to left fielder Yasmany Tomas. After Robles was taken out, LHP Josh Edgin came in and allowed a solo homer to pinch-hitter Daniel Descalso.

Mets vs. Brewers Game 36 Recao

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers today 11-9 after blowing a 7-1 lead. The Mets were swept in the series and dropped their record to 16-20. RHP Jacob deGrom got the start and allowed four runs in six innings. He had seven strikeouts. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and gave up a 2 run homer to centerfielder Keon Broxton. RHP Fernando Salas allowed a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Salas came back out for the bottom of the seventh inning and allowed another run. LHP Josh Edgin allowed a run in the bottom of the eighth. RHP Addison Reed followed in the eighth and blew his first save of the year. Reed allowed a 2 run single to leftfielder Hernan Perez and a three-run homer to Brewers backup catcher Manny Pena.

LF Michael Conforto got the Mets offense off to a good start with a solo homer in the top of the third inning. Conforto also hit a 2 run double in the top of the fifth. Conforto had 3 hits with 3 RBI's and was a single shy of hitting for the cycle. 2B Neil Walker continued his torrid series with a two-run double and RBI single. Mets vs. Brewers Game 35 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 11-4 for their third consecutive loss and dropped their record to 16-19. RHP Robert Gsellman got the start and had another rough outing. Gsellman was only able to last four innings and allowed six runs on nine hits. He gave up three walks and had three strikeouts. RHP Hansel Robles came in next with the based loaded and allowed four inherited runs to score. He also gave up four runs of his own. RHP Paul Sewald allowed one run on three hits in two innings. Sewald had three strikeouts. RHP Rafael Montero pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

Catcher Kevin Plawecki got the Mets offense started with a 2 run double in the top of the second inning. RHP Robert Gsellman hit a RBI groundout in the top of the second. 2B Neil Walker hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth inning, which was his second homer of the series.

Mets vs. Brewers Game 34 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 tonight for their second consecutive loss and dropped their record to 16-18. RHP Matt Harvey got the start and allowed five runs (three homers) on seven hits in five plus innings. He gave up five walks and had seven strikeouts. Harvey allowed 2 runs through five innings, but gave up back-to-back homers in the bottom of the sixth. LHP Josh Edgin came in after Harvey was taken out and gave up a run after Brewers shortstop Jonathan Villar scored while Brewers catcher Hernan Perez was caught in a rundown. RHP Rafael Montero allowed a run on a solo homer by Jeff Bandy in the bottom of the seventh. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

The Mets offense was led by second baseman Neil Walker who had a solo homer in the top of the second inning and a RBI single in the top of the sixth. Walker ended up 3-3 on the night with one walk, two runs and two RBI's. 3B TJ Rivera hit a RBI groundout in the top of the ninth. CF Curtis Granderson scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth.

RHP Jeurys Familia Diagnosed With Blood Clot

The New York Mets announced earlier this afternoon that closer RHP Jeurys Familia has been diagnosed with an arterial blood clot in his right shoulder. Familia will be seeing Dr. Robert Thompson tomorrow in St. Louis who performed RHP Matt Harvey's neck surgery last offseason. It is unknown how long Familia will be out. Surgery could be an option.

Mets vs. Giants Game 33 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the San Francisco Giants 6-5 today to drop their record to 16-17, but were still able to take the series and winning two out of three games. LHP Tommy Millone got the start and made his Met debut after the team picked him up off waivers on Sunday. Millone allowed 2 runs on on six hits in five-plus innings. He gave up two walks and had five strikeouts. RHP Fernando Salas gave up next with runners on first and second and gave up a run that was charged to Millone since he was responsible for the runners on base. LHP Jerry Blevins and RHP Hansel Robles combined to pitch a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Addison Reed and LHP Jerry Blevins combined to pitch a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia came in for the save, but got into trouble after 3B Wilmer Flores bobbled and made an error on what should have  been a game-ending double play that would have ended the game. Familia allowed a 3 run based clearing double to Giants SS Christian Arroyo. He was taken out after giving up 4 runs ( 3 earned) in the inning. RHP Rafael Montero came in and got the last two outs in the top of the ninth.

The Mets offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI double by LF Curtis Granderson. RF Jay Bruce hit a solo homer in the bottom of the third inning. Starting pitcher Tommy Millone helped out his own cause with a RBI single in the bottom of the fourth. 3B Wilmer Flores hit a 2 run double in the bottom of the ninth.

Mets vs. Giants Game 32 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-1 for their second consecutive win and have evened their record back up to .500 at 16-16. The Mets offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first inning on a 2 run triple by 2B Neil Walker. SS Jose Reyes followed with an RBI single. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a RBI double to bring home the fourth run of the inning. In the bottom of the second inning, 2B T.J. Rivera hit a RBI double. Rivera went 3 for 4 and his  batting average increased to .309. In the bottom of the seventh inning, LF Michael Conforto hit a solo home run, his eighth on the season.

RHP Zack Wheeler got the start and had his best outing of the season. Wheeler allowed one run on two hits in six innings. He gave up four walks and had four strikeouts. He picked up his second win on the season. RHP Hansel Robles followed with a scoreless top of the seventh inning. LHP Jerry Blevins and RHP Addison Reed combined to pitch a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

Mets vs. Giants 31 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants tonight 4-3 and improved their record to 15-16. 2B Neil Walker drove in the first run of the game with a RBI double in the bottom of the first inning. 1B T.J. Walker hit a RBI double in the bottom of the bottom of the sixth. RF Curtis Granderson added a pinch-hit RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 3. Walker drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off RBI single.

RHP Jacob deGrom battled through a rocky start after allowing a 2 run homer to RF Hunter Pence in the top of the first inning. He also allowed a solo homer to catcher Buster Posey in the top of the sixth. degrom allowed three runs on 4 hits in six innings. He had 11 strikeouts. RHP Fernando Salas and LHP Jerry Blevins combined to pitch a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his first win on the season.


Mets DFA Adam Wilk

The New York Mets announced earlier today that they have designated LHP Adam Wilk for assignment to make room for LHP Tommy Millone on the  40 man roster. Wilk started against the Miami Marlins yesterday and allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Mets Call Up Gavin Cecchini

The New York Mets announced earlier today that they will be calling up infielder Gavin Cecchini from Triple-A Las Vegas. The corresponding roster move has not been announced yet. It is unknown yet what Cecchini's position will be in the majors. His natural position is second base, but Neil Walker blocks him from playing second base. There is a possibility that Cecchini could get some time at third base, which would allow Jose Reyes to move back to shortstop. It will be interesting to see how Cecchini will fit in and what position will best suit him. In 30 games in Triple A this year, he has hit .254 with two homers, eight doubles, three stolen bases, and has only struck out 13 times.

Mets vs. Marlins Game 30 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 7-0 today in the series finale and dropped their record to 14-16. The Mets were still able to take the series after winning two out of three games. LHP Adam Wilk was called from Triple-A  to make  a spot start and replace RHP Matt Harvey who was suspended for three games. Wilk got off to a rocky start after he allowed a 3 run homer to RF Giancarlo Stanton in the top of the first inning. Wilk gave another homer to Stanton in the top of the fourth. He also allowed a homer to SS Adeiny Hechavarria in the fourth. Wilk ended up allowed four runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. RHP Paul Sewald came in to relieve Wilk and allowed one run in 3 2/3 innings. He had six strikeouts. LHP Josh Edgin pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Fernando Salas and LHP Josh Smoker combined to pitch a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The Mets offense was lifeless for the entire game and managed only one hit.

Mets Claim Tommy Millone Off Waivers

The New York Mets claimed LHP Tommy Millone off waivers earlier today in order to add some more pitching depth. Millone went 1-0  with a 6.43 ERA in 6 games (3 starts) for the Milwaukee Brewers this year. He had previously pitched for the Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins before joining the Brewers this year. In his career, Millone has posted a record of 45-33 with an ERA of 4.21 and 6.5 K/9 innings. Hopefully he can be an adequate 5th starter for the Mets and serve as a better option then RHP Rafael Montero or LHP Adam Wilk,

Matt Harvey Suspended For Three Days

The New York Mets announced earlier this morning that RHP Matt Harvey was suspended for three days without pay for violating team rules and was sent home by the team. Harvey was supposed to make the start today against the Miami Marlins. 29 year old LHP Adam Wilk from the Triple A Las Vegas 51's was called up for a spot start in place of Harvey. Wilk made his major league debut with the Detriot Tigers in 2011 and was last pitched in the Major Leagues in 2015 for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Wilk signed with the Mets this offseason on a minor league deal and posted a record of 2-3 and an ERA of 5.91 in six starts for the 51's.

Mets vs. Marlins Game 29 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 11-3 tonight and improved their record to 14-15. The Mets offense was able to put up 11 runs and score in three different innings. In the bottom of the first inning. they were able to bring home five runs. SS Asdrubal Cabrera drove home the first run of the game with an RBI double. RF Jay Bruce followed with another RBI double. 3B Jose Reyes hit a RBI single.  Catcher Kevin Plawecki hit a sacrifice fly. LF Michael Conforto drew a based loaded walk. In the bottom of the fifth inning. 1B T.J. Rivera hit a RBI single. RF Curtis Granderson scored on a passed ball. Conforto drew another based loaded walk. He ended up drawing three walks. In the bottom of the seventh inning, 3B Wilmer Flores grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home a run. RF Jay Bruce hit a 2 run double. Bruce wound up with two hits and 3 RBI's on the night.

The Mets were down 7-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, but wound up scoring 5 runs and retaking the lead. 2B TJ Rivera hit a 2 run double to tie the game. Rivera led the offense with 3 RBI's. He also hit a solo homer in the top of the first. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a RBI single in the seventh. SS Asbruval Cabrera hit a pinch hit RBI single. RF Curtis Granderson added a 2 run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Travis d'Arnaud Placed on DL

The New York Mets announced earlier today that catcher Travis d'Arnaud has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bone bruise in his right wrist. d'Arnaud will rest for a week before resuming baseball activities. He is hitting .203 with 4 homers and 16 RBI's in 66 at-bats this year. RHP Rafael Montero is taking d'Arnaud's spot on the roster, who is getting the start tonight.

Last night's Mets-Braves game was postponed after a two-hour rain delay.The game will be made up a later date. At the time of the day, the Mets led 3-1 in the top of the fourth inning. Mets vs. Braves Game 26 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 16-5 tonight for their fourth win in the last six games. The Mets offense got off to a fast start in the top of the first inning with 2 runs on a RBI double by SS Asdrubal Cabrera and RBI double by 2B Neil Walker. RF Curtis Granderson hit a RBI double in the top of the third inning. 3B Jose Reyes and catcher Rene Rivera added RBI singles in the top of the third. In the top of the fifth inning, Reyes hit a RBI single and Rene Rivera hit another RBI single. 1B T.J. Rivera added a RBI double and RHP Jacob deGrom broke the game open in the fifth with a two run single. In the top of the eighth inning, Reyes capped off his big night at the plate with a 3 run double, Rene Rivera hit another RBI single, OF Juan Lagares hit a RBI single and LF Michael Conforto hit a 2 run double. In all, the Mets had a total of 20 hits and had a hit from ten different players. Seven players had multi-hit games. Three players had three-hit games. Jose Reyes had a career-high 5 RBI's.

RHP Jacob deGrom had his worst outing of the season tonight allowing five runs on eight hits in five innings. Degrom gave up five walks and five strikeouts.  He was still able to pick up his second win despite his struggles due to all of the run support he received. LHP Josh Edgin followed with a scoreless bottom of the sixth. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. RHP Fernando Salas pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. LHP Josh Smoker closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.

Wilmer Flores Activated Off DL

New York Mets infielder Wilmer Flores has been activated off the 10-day disabled list and will be in Atlanta for tonight's game. LHP Sean Gilmartin has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for Flores on the roster. Flores had been out since April 21st with a knee infection.

The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves tonight 9-7 and have now fallen to last place in the National League East. RHP Matt Harvey struggled from the get-go with his command. Harvey was unable to gain control of his secondary pitches. He allowed six runs in 5 1/3 innings. Harvey gave up three walks and had two strikeouts. After Harvey was taken out, LHP Josh Edgin got the last two outs in the bottom of the sixth. LHP Josh Smoker followed in the bottom of the seventh and allowed a single and a double before being pulled. RHP Fernando Salas came in next and gave up two hits and a walk which brought home two runs. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

The Mets offense got off to a fast start on a two-run homer by RF Jay Bruce in the top of the first inning. SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning. Bruce also hit a grand slam in the top ninth inning and ended up with two homers and six RBI's.
