RHP Tylor Megill started out well with four scoreless innings and then ran into trouble in the top of the fifth.
Megill gave up a lead-off single to RF Kyle Stowers and then 2B Brett Baty made a throwing error to advance Stowers to second base and allow 1B Jonah Bride to first and was taken out.
RHP Max Kranick came in next and after retiring the first two hitters, gave up a RBI single to 1B Matt Mervis and then two batters later, a RBI single to catcher Nick Fortes.
Kranick stayed in for the top of the top of the sixth and threw a scoreless inning.
RHP Ryne Stanek followed and threw a scoreless top of the seventh.
RHP Huscar Brazoban threw a scoreless top of the eighth.
RHP Edwin Diaz came on in the top of the ninth and had a difficult inning allowing three runs on two hits and two walks with a two-run homer and picked only two outs in the inning.
LHP Danny Young had to come in to get the last out in the top of the ninth.
The Met offense did not all game managing only two hits.
The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action on Friday, April 11 at the Athletics in Las Vegas at 10:05 p.m.
