The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a homer.
In the bottom of the second, DH Jesse Winker led off with a homer.
The offense did not do much for the next four innings until the bottom of the seventh after 2B Luisangel Acuna singled with one out, 3B Brett Baty singled and then two batters later, Lindor came up and capped off his stellar night at the plate with a three-run homer to centerfield.
RHP Tylor Megill had a strong start with 5.1 scoreless innings allowing one hit and four walks with 10 strikeouts
Megill had excellent command of his fastball, slider and change-up.
He picked up his third win and lowered his ERA to 1.09.
RHP Reed Garrett followed and picked up two key outs in the top of the sixth.
RHP Max Kranick came in next and cruised through the top of the seventh and eighth innings, but then ran into trouble in the top of the ninth.
Kranick gave up a lead-off double to LF Max Kepler and then singles to catcher J.T Realmuto and 3B Alec Bohm and was then taken out.
RHP Edwin Diaz came on and after one out, gave up a three-run homer to 2B Bryson Stott, but then came back to strike out SS Trea Turner and RF Bryce Harper to close it out and pick up his sixth save.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 22 at home against the Phillies at 7:10 p.m.
