The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a double and then two batters later, 1B Pete Alonso continued his hot start with a two-run homer to right field.
The offense did not do much for the next four innings, but then came alive in the bottom of the sixth.
Lindor walked with out and then RF Juan Soto followed with a RBI double.
Alonso was then intentionally walked and LF Brandon Nimmo followed with a RBI double.
DH Starling Marte followed with a sacrifice fly.
RHP Tylor Megill had another strong start with 5.1 scoreless innings, two hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
He picked up his second win and lowered his ERA to 0.87.
RHP Reed Garrett came in next in the top of the sixth with one out and the tying runs on first and second and struck out 2B Andres Gimenez and catcher Alendandro Kirk.
LHP A.J. Minter followed with a scoreless top of the seventh.
RHP Max Kranick closed it out with two scoreless innings in the top of the eighth and ninth.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday, April 5 at home against the Blue Jays at 7:10 p.m.
