The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a double and then CF Harrison Bader followed with a two-run homer.
In the bottom of the second, LF Tyrone Taylor led off with a single and 3B Mark Vientos followed by reaching on an error.
Catcher Francisco Alvarez then hit a RBI single and Vientos scored on an error.
Three batters later, D.H. J.D. Martinez drove in 2B Jeff McNeil with a RBI single.
After scoreless innings in the bottom of the third and fourth, RF Starling Marte drove in a run on a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
In the bottom of the seventh, 1B Pete Alonso singled with one out and then Marte followed with a walk.
Taylor then singled to load the bases and Vientos drove in a run on a RBI single.
Alvarez followed by driving in a run on a fielder's choice.
In the bottom of the eighth, Lindor led off with a solo homer and then Bader reached on an infield hit.
Three batters later, Marte capped off the scoring with a RBI single.
LHP David Peterson had a decent outing allowing four runs on eight hits in five innings.
He gave up two walks with one strikeout.
Peterson picked up second win of the season.
RHP Dedniel Nunez followed with 2.1 dominating scoreless innings.
Nunez had five strikeouts with no hits and no walks.
LHP Jake Diekmann came in next and got the last two outs in the top of the eighth.
RHP Reed Garrett closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Thursday, June 13 at home against the Marlins at 7:10 p.m.
