The Met offense got off to a fast start in the top of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a double and then LF Brandon Nimmo followed with a walk.
DH J.D. Martinez came up next and continued his torrid stretch with a three-run homer.
In the top of the second, catcher Francisco Alvarez led off with a homer and 2B Jose Iglesias followed with a single.
Three batters later, Nimmo broke the game open with a three-run homer.
In the top of the third, 1B Pete Alonso led off with a double and then RF Starling Marte reached first with a bunt single.
Later in the inning, Iglesias drove in Alonso with a RBI single.
In the top of the fourth, Lindor led off with another double and then Nimmo singled
Martinez followed with a RBI single and then Alonso walked to load the bases.
Marte followed by grounding into a fielder's choice to bring in a run and two batters later Alvarez walked.
Iglesias then drove in his second RBI of the game on another RBI single.
LHP Jose Quintana was let down by his defense in the bottom of the first after 3B Mark Vientos made an error, but then came back to retire DH Christopher Morel on a double play which brought in a run.
Quintana settled down after that and turned in a fine outing and did not allow any more runs.
His final line was 6.1 innings, four hits, one run (0 earned), one walk and eight strikeouts.
He picked up his third win and lowered his ERA to 4.58.
RHP Adam Ottavino followed with 1.2 scoreless innings.
RHP Drew Smith closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Saturday June 22 at the Cubs at 2:20 p.m.
