The New York Mets lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 tonight at Citi Field and dropped their record to 65-78.
LHP Jose Quintana had another strong start allowing two runs on five hits in five innings.
Quintana gave two walks with four strikeouts.
RHP Sean-Reid Foley followed with a scoreless top of the sixth.
LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless top of the seventh.
RHP Trevor Gott came on in the top of the eighth and gave up a game-tying homer to RF Tommy Pham.
RHP Drew Smith gave up a game-winning RBI double to 2B Ketel Marte in the top of the ninth.
The Met offense was held scoreless for the first two innings until LF Jeff McNeil hit a solo homer in the bottom of the third.
Later in the inning, rookie 2B Ronny Maurico continued his torrid start in the big leagues with a two-run double.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, September 12 at home against the Diamondbacks at 7:10 p.m.
