Mets Beat Twins 2-0 Powered By Stewart

The New York Mets beat the Minnesota Twins 2-0 today at Target Field to snap their three-game losing streak and improved their record to 65-77.

The Met offense did not do much for the first eight innings until SS Francisco Lindor doubled to lead off the top of the ninth and then 2B Jeff McNeil followed with a hit by pitch.

Two batters later, RF DJ Stewart continued his torrid stretch with a two-run double.

RHP Tylor Megill had a solid start throwing five scoreless innings. 

Megill gave up two hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

RHP Phil Bickford followed with a scoreless bottom of the sixth.

RHP Trevor Gott came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth and picked up his first save. 

RHP Adam Ottavino closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth and picked up his ninth save.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, September 11 at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:10 p.m.
