The New York Mets lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park and swept in their four-game series and dropped their record to 71-85.

RHP Jose Butto started out well with three scoreless innings, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth and gave up four runs.

Butto gave up a two-run single to catcher JT Realmuto and then a two-run homer to the following hitter RF Nick Castellanos and was taken out after the inning.

Butto's final line was four innings, four hits, four runs, two walks and five strikeouts.

RHP Grant Hartwig came in next in the bottom of the fifth and gave up a RBI single to 1B Bryce Harper.

Hartwig stayed in for the bottom of the sixth and got one out in the inning and then came out.

LHP former Met minor leaguer LHP Anthony Kay came in after he was recalled off waivers and had a solid outing throwing 1.2 scoreless innings.

RHP Trevor Gott followed with a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense did not do much all game outside of a two-run homer by 2B Ronny Mauricio in the top of the sixth and they managed only three hits all the game.

The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action on Tuesday, September 26 at home against the Miami Marlins at 7:10 p.m.
