Mets Marlins Game Suspended Due to Rain

The New York Mets-Miami Marlins game was postponed on Thursday night due to rain and if necessary will be made up on Monday afternoon October 2 at 1:10 p.m.

The game was stopped in the top of the ninth with the Marlins leading 2-1.

MLB had to wait three hours to suspend the game due to the Marlins needed this game for postseason implications.

LHP David Peterson finished up his season on a strong note with seven scoreless innings.

RHP Grant Hartwig followed with a scoreless top of the eighth and came back out for the top of the ninth and gave up a lead-off single to Bryan De La Cruz and then a strikeout and was taken out after that.

LHP Anthony Kay came on to close it out but gave up a wild pitch and then a RBI double to Jazz Chisholm Jr and and then a RBI single to Yuli Gurriel.

The Met offense did not do much until the bottom of the eighth after 3B Brett Baty led off with a single and then LF Tim Locastro followed with a sacrifice bunt.

CF Rafael Ortega came up next and drove in Baty with a RBI single.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Friday September 29 at home against the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:10 p.m in their final series of the year.
