The New York Mets lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 tonight at Citizens Bank Park and dropped their record to 34-41.

In the bottom of the first, CF Brandon Nimmo dropped a fly ball by lead-off hitter by LF Kyl Schwarber which lead to two unearned runs for RHP Kodai Senga on a RBI single by DH Bryce Harper and a sacrifice fly by 2B Bryson Stott.

Senga settled down after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the second, third, fourth, and fifth but left in the game in the bottom of the sixth with runners on first and third and one out.

LHP Josh Walker came in next and was able to induce a pop-up but SS Francisco Lindor dropped a routine pop up which allowed a run to score.

Later in the inning, Walker gave up a two-run single to SS Trea Turner.

RHP Jeff Brigham had to come in to get the last out in the bottom of the sixth.

LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

RHP Vinny Nittoli threw a scoreles bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense struggled all night outside of a solo homer by Nimmo in the third and managed only three hits.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, June 24 at the Phillies at 4:05 p.m.
