The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 6-4 tonight at SunTruist Park for their fourth consecutive loss and dropped their record to under .500 at 30-31.
RHP Carlos Carrasco started out well allowing one run in five innings, but it all fell apart in the bottom of the sixth.
Carrasco gave up a lead-off walk to 1B Matt Olson and then a double to the following hitter 3B Austin Riley and a two-run catcher Sean Murphy and was then taken out.
RHP Drew Smith came in next and later in the inning gave up a game-tying RBI double to DH Marcell Ozuna and then a RBI single to RF Ronald Acuna Jr.
RHP Jeff Brigham appeared next in the bottom of the seventh and threw a scoreless inning.
RHP Adam Ottavino followed in the bottom of the eighth and gave up a RBI ground-out to Ozuna.
The Met offense was held scoreless for the first two innings until the top of the third after SS Francisco Lindor and 1B Pete Alonso hit two-run homers.
The bats did not do much after that for the rest of the game and managed only four hits all night.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 7 at the Braves at 7:20 p.m.
