The New York Mets lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 this afternoon at PNC Park to lose two out of three games in the series and dropped their record to 31-35.

RHP Carlos Carrasco started out well with three scoreless innings, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth after he gave up a solo homer to CF Jack Suwinski and later in the inning a RBI single to SS Tucapita Marcano.

Carrasco was taken out later in the bottom of the fifth after he struggled with his command and location all afternoon.

His final line was 4.2 innings, six hits, two runs, three walks and one strikeout.

LHP Josh Walker came in next and had a stellar performance throwing 1.1 scoreless innings.

RHP Drew Smith followed and threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense did not do much outside of a solo homer by 2B Jeff McNeil in the top of the fourth.

They left six runners on base and went 0-4 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action at home on Tuesday, June 13th against the New York Yankees in the first game of the Subway Series at 7:10 p.m.
