The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 tonight at Citi Field for their second consecutive loss and dropped their record to 35-43.

RHP Justin Verlander had a bounce-back outing throwing five scoreless innings with five hits and no walks with five strikeouts.

RHP Drew Smith followed in the top of the sixth and gave up a two-run homer to CF Joey Wiemer.

RHP Adam Ottavino came in next and threw a scoreless top of the seventh.

LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless top of the eighth.

RHP David Robertson threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

The Met offense did not do much outside of the bottom of the fourth after RF Starling Marte lead off with a single and then stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher Wilson Contreras.

SS Francisco Lindor followed with a sacrifice fly.

The bats managed only three hits all night and left four runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, June 27 at home against the Brewers at 7:10 p.m.
