The New York Mets lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-7 tonight at PNC Park for their seventh consecutive loss and dropped their record to 30-34.

RHP Tylor Megill started out well with a scoreless bottom of the first, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the second after he gave up a single to 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes, walked 2B Ji Jwan Bae and then two batters later, gave up a two-run double to catcher Austin Hedges.

Megill's struggles continued in the bottom of the third after SS Francisco Lindor made a key error on a routine error which later in the inning led to a two-run single to Hayes.

Megill's defense let him down once again in the inning after 3B Eduardo Escobar made a throwing error which resulted in two more runs.

Megill then gave up a RBI single to RF Josh Pacalous and was taken in the bottom of the fourth.

His final line was 3.2 innings, eight hits, nine runs (eight earned runs), three walks and one strikeout.

RHP Zach Muckenhirn came in next after he was just called up and gave up three runs on six hits in 2.1 innings.

RHP Tommy Hunter followed and gave up two runs in two innings.

In the top of the second, DH Mark Vientos drove in the first run of the game with a RBI single.

In the top of the third, SS Francisco Lindor hit a solo homer.

In the top of the ninth, Vientos grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home a run.
