The New York Mets beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 tonight at LoneDepot Park in Miami, Florida for their fourth consecutive win and improved their record to 62-37.

After a scoreless top of the first, the offense rallied back from three runs down against star RHP Sandy Alcantara after RF Mark Canha doubled with one out and two batters later catcher Tomas Nido walked.

CF Brandon Nimmo followed with a two-run double and then the next hitter RF Starling Marte hit a RBI triple to tie the game.

In the top of the fourth, Marte continued his stellar night with a solo homer.

The bats did not much for the next few innings wasting scoring opportunities in the top of the fifth and seventh, but came alive once again in the top of the eighth.

Pinch-hitter Eduardo Escobar led off the eighth with an infield hit and then Nido hit a sacrifice bunt to move him over to second.

Nimmo came up next and crushed a game-winning two-run homer.

RHP Chris Bassitt got off to a tough start in the bottom of the first after he walked 1B Lewin Diaz and then gave up singles to RF Avisail Garcia and CF JJ Bleday to load the bases.

Bassitt then gave up a bases clearing double to SS Miguel Rojas,

Bassitt then gave up another run in the bottom of the second after 3B Joey Wendle grounded into a double play with runners on first and third which brought in a run.

Bassitt settled down after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings which helped keep his team in the game and was taken out after the sixth.

His final line was six innings, six hits, four runs, four walks and two strikeouts.

RHP Adam Ottavino followed with a scoreless bottom of the seventh and picked up his fifth win.

RHP Trevor Williams threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

RHP Edwin Diaz came on in the bottom of the ninth and had a dominating performance striking out the side on 10 pitches and came close to an immaculate inning of striking out the side on nine pitches to pick up his 23th save of the season.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday July 30th at the Marlins at 6:10 p.m.
