Alonso, Diaz, Marte and McNeil Make NL All-Star Team

 New York Mets 1B Pete Alonso, 2B Jeff McNeil, RF Starling Marte and closer RHP Edwin Diaz were all announced to the National League All Star Team today.

Alonso leads the National League in RBI with 70 and is second-most homers in the NL. This is his second All Star appearance.

McNeil is hitting .311 and is having a fine season at the plate and in the field. This is his second All Star appearance as well.

Marte is hitting .291 with nine homers and 40 RBI with 10 stolen bases as well as stellar defense in the outfield.

This is his second All-Star appearance.

Diaz has had a spectacular season with 18 saves and a 1.78 ERA. He has 70 strikeouts in 35 1/3 innings which leads the majors.

This is his second All-Star appearance as well.
