The New York Mets announced today that RHP Drew Smith has been placed on the 15-day injured list with an undisclosed arm issue.
The move will likely be retroactive to Monday and Smith will be eligible to return on August 9th.
Smith started out the season strong with 12 consecutive scoreless outings, but has struggled in the last couple of months with an ERA over 5 since middle of May and given up eight homers in last 27 2/3 innings.
