The New York Mets lost to the San Diego Padres 7-0 tonight at Petco Park to snap their three-game winning streak and dropped their record to 38-20.

RHP Taijuan Walker got off to a tough start in the bottom of the first after he gave up a lead-off homer to LF Jurickson Profar.

Walker's struggles continued in the bottom of the second after he gave up back-to-back singles to 1B Eric Hosmer and RF Nomar Mazara and two batters later a RBI single by CF Trent Grisham.

Walker walked Profar later in the inning and then gave up a two-run single to the following hitter 2B Jake Croneworth.

Walker settled down after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

His final line was six innings, five hits, four runs, two walks and four strikeouts.

RHP Colin Holderman came in next in the bottom of the seventh and got into immediate trouble loading the bases and then gave up a two-run double to 3B Manny Machado.

Holderman then gave up a sacrifice fly to DH Luke Volt and was then taken out.

LHP Chasen Shreve came in next and got the last out in the inning.

Shreve stayed in for the bottom of the eighth and threw a scoreless inning.

The offense did not much against RHP Yu Darvish who had a no-hitting going until the top of the sixth after LF Mark Canha singled.

They managed two hits and Darvish and never got anything going.

In addition to their offensive struggles, 1B Pete Alonso left the game in the top of the second after getting hit by a pitch on the hand and RF Starling Marte left the game with quad tightness.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Wednesday June 8th at the Padres at 9:40 p.m.
